The first step in any DIY brown epoxy project starts with proper countertop preparation

and equipment. We've listed the necessary tools and supplies needed for this Baltic

brown countertop project.

Stone Coat Countertop Baltic Brown Epoxy

1/8" Notch Trowel

● 91% Isopropyl Alcohol

● Drill, Paddle Mixer 

● Coffee Metallic Epoxy Powder

● Copper Metallic Epoxy Powder

● 2” Chop Brushes

● Gloves 

● Mixing Bucket 

● Spray Bottles

1. Baltic Brown Epoxy Countertops Preparation

For the best results, we recommend applying two layers of Bonding Primer to your

laminate countertops, solid surface countertops, cultured marble, and other nonporous

smooth, hard surfaces. This undercoat will create a smooth and adherable surface for

the brown epoxy to bind to. You'll want to lightly sand in between coats with a 220 grit

sanding pad, also available online at Stone Coat Countertops.

2. Apply Brown Epoxy Paint To Your Countertops

Mix your coffee epoxy powder and copper metallic powder into separate spray bottles

with 91% isopropyl alcohol. You can mist the edges and surface with both metallic

colors to your desired look from a distance. Allow to metallic/alcohol baltic brown

epoxy mixture to completely dry.

3. Apply Clear Epoxy

Mix clear Stone Coat Countertop Epoxy and pour into the center of your project. Evenly spread the mixed epoxy using a 1/8" square notch trowel.
